…for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.
The Leadership Council’s role is to provide general oversight and direction to the church by serving as the communication point for all OCCUMC teams. This is done by sharing information about events, activities, needs, plans, etc.; assisting the various teams as needed; implementing and affirming various policies, procedures, and actions that may exceed the authority of any specific committee or group; and addressing other church business, all while keeping focus on and working toward fulfillment of the church.
The Board of Trustees is charged with the supervision and maintenance of all property and equipment owned by OCCUMC. This includes creating policies for the use of such property and equipment, receiving and administering all gifts made to OCCUMC, overseeing investments, maintaining all legal documents, maintaining proper insurance coverage, and developing appropriate risk management policies.
The Trustees are not able to accomplish these tasks on their own. If you have an interest in helping with one or more of these activities, contact the Trustees Chair via the church office, 414-762-4600.
The Cares and Concerns team is a ministry whose mission is to care and serve those people in our congregation and beyond who have special needs at any given time. These needs may include births, deaths, hospitalization, illness, and shut-in or any other unforeseen situations where we may show our love for others. We offer these services as a loving extension of God and his care for us.
A description of our ministry is as follows:
Please inform us with the birth of a new baby so we may share the joy and schedule an announcement, along with a rose on the altar.
Feel free to contact the church office at 414-762-4600 with any questions or concerns.
The mission of the Christian Education team is to provide church learning experiences through small groups for all members and friends of the congregation through classes, in-services, seminars, and outreach programs so that all may grow spiritually and live their daily lives as faithful Christians.

The goal of the Finance team goal is to fund the ministries that nurture people in their faith. The finance system in the congregation will raise, manage, and disperse the funds of the congregation that help realize the mission and vision of the church.
Stewardship
Generosity is a matter of action, intentions, and heart. One way to describe it is the grateful outpouring of gifts to others, out of our love for God. The OCCUMC Stewardship team encourages and assists our congregation to be better stewards as we continually prepare as disciples of Jesus Christ. For all United Methodists, stewardship encompasses four basic elements of our membership vows shared when joining the Church. When we join the United Methodist Church, we vow to support the church though our gifts, our prayers, our service, our presence, and our witness. It is important for United Methodists to give not only of their financial means, but also to offer our time and talents, attend church regularly, participate in church activities, and to pray for our church family plus our church leaders.
For more on stewardship and generosity see this link: Stewardship
When someone we love passes away, we mourn the loss even as we celebrate their life, and we keep our memories of them in our hearts. One way to honor loved ones is to create a memorial in the form of a gift to the church. We also can create a lasting memory by remembering the church in our own wills and estates.
The process is very simple, and you can meet with any of the Memorial team to plan how you would like your memorial to look. Gifts that support the missional priorities of the Oak Creek Community Memorial Church are very welcome and will be a blessing to this church for years to come.
The Memorial Team is part of the leadership of the church, and we are always here to advise and guide members and their families when it comes time to create a memorial. Please contact the church office at 414-762-4600 with any questions or if you would liike to talk to a Memorial team member.
The Missions team goal supports opportunities for members to do God’s work and grow as a faith community. The missions outreach includes local, state, national, and international efforts.
OCCUMC missions count on the contributions and volunteers of our faith family. With the impact of COVID, many of our missions have been put on hold. Although we are not able to help out or attend our missions, they are still in need of support so we will continue to post mission activities as they occur and we encourage you to continue participation and contributions.
The Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) is the administrative unit of the Oak Creek Community UMC. In this role, the SPRC functions as liaison where congregational interests and staff interests come together to focus on the mission of the church.
An important role of the SPRC is to support the morale of the staff and provide helpful feedback from the congregation. Every United Methodist church has an SPRC to help build relationships among members of the congregation and staff with a goal bringing together the most effective team to accomplish the mission and purposes of the church.
The SPRC has leadership and management roles. The leadership role is to "keep an eye on the big picture" or mission of the church. Even during crisis, the SPRC members can never forget that they are part of the body of Christ and must always be aware of the mission of God's Church. The management role focuses on the daily activities that ensure details are take care of and the mission strategies are implemented.
The SPRC works with individuals and groups, including:
- the Pastor
- all ordained leaders, elders and deacons, as appointed by the Bishop Hee-Soo Jung
- the lay staff, both full time and part time
- the congregation (individually and corporately)
- church members interested in being candidates for licensed and ordained ministry
- the local community
- the District Superintendent
- the United Methodist Wisconsin Annual Conference staff and general church staff
Contact the SPRC Chair via the church office, 414-762-4600.
